I have a funny relationship with matcha. I love it in any kind of dessert, baked good and especially in tea lattes. I even add it to my smoothies. However if someone offered me a cup of matcha that had been whisked in water or milk without any sugar, I would most likely not enjoy it at all.
Matcha muffins is my latest experiment with matcha and it came out surprisingly well. I had a muffin a day for a week. It was the perfect muffin for breakfast or as a dessert after lunch or dinner. It photographed really well too. I love the sheen of the muffin tops even though they fell when it cooled. I just love how the greens and browns show up in the photo. It didn’t even require any photoshop magic!
