This was one of my favourite desserts from my childhood in Singapore. Chendol and Red Ruby to name others. My first attempt took me right back to when I was little when my family went to a restaurant called Wishbone on the weekend for dinner. I couldn’t wait until I was done dinner to get an order of Gula Melaka. It came in a little aluminium chalice and it was heavenly. The portion was so tiny I tried my very best to make it last. Now I get make as much as I like and eat to my fill!
